Union’s Raquel Kessler earns multiple honors from AVCA

Barbourville, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University's Raquel Kessler recently received multiple honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

Kessler was listed as a Third-Team All-American on the AVCA's 2024 All-America Teams for NAIA women's volleyball. She was also a First-Team selection in the Northeast Region, while being named the Northeast Region Player of the Year. It marks the third consecutive season that Kessler has been named to the Northeast Region Team.

Kessler has recently received numerous accolades in addition to those AVCA honors. The NAIA announced its 2024 Women's Volleyball All-America Teams on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Kessler secured a spot on the Third Team.

When the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced its 2024 Women's Volleyball All-AAC Teams and Awards last month, she was a First-Team All-AAC selection in addition to being named the AAC Player of the Year. It marked the third consecutive season that Kessler was named First-Team All-AAC.
