Union’s Raquel Kessler earns NAIA All-America honors

Barbourville, Ky. – On Tuesday, the NAIA released its 2024 Women's Volleyball All-America Teams. Union Commonwealth University's Raquel Kessler secured a spot on the Third Team.

Kessler is the first Bulldog since Rachel Andrews in 2016 to be named to one of the NAIA's All-America Teams.

The 6-foot-0 graduate student was named First-Team All-AAC this season in addition to being named the AAC Player of the Year. It marks the third consecutive season that Kessler was named First-Team All-AAC.

She became the sixth Bulldog within the past 20 years to be named First-Team All-AAC in at least three consecutive seasons. Kessler joined Monica Moreland, Paige Moore, Ana Calaza, Rachel Andrews, and Allison Ruddick on that list.

Kessler registered 397 kills, 30 assists, 324 digs, and 112 total blocks this season. She finished the year ranked first in the AAC in kills per set, ranked second in total kills, and ranked fourth in both total blocks and blocks per set. She is ranked 30th in the NAIA in kills per set this season.
