Cleveland, Ga. – The Union Commonwealth University volleyball team played at Truett McConnell on Saturday. The Bulldogs won 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-12, 25-20).
Union's Raquel Kessler led all players in kills with 22. Emily Shumaker tallied 12, while Jasmine Porter totaled 10. Berkli Benefield registered six kills.
Maddy McGaughey led all players in assists with 22, while Yanelis Turbi tallied 20. Nicole Almestica registered an impressive 27 digs, which was by the far most by any player.
McGaughey totaled 15 digs, while McKenna Pickett tallied 13 and Kessler registered 11. Lara Gomes De Castro recorded nine digs.
The Bulldogs are now 9-16 (7-8 AAC) this season, while Truett McConnell is 10-14 (7-7 AAC). Up next for UCU is a home conference game against Tennessee Wesleyan on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m.
