Pease places third in heptathlon at the AAC Outdoor Championships 

Columbia, SC. -  The Union Commonwealth University women's track and field team competed in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships from April 18 through April 20. Overall, the Bulldogs placed 11th place with a total of 11 points.

 

Day One:

Morgan Blakley placed 15th in the javelin throw with a mark of 21.92m.

 

Day Two:

Within the heptathlon, Erin Pease placed second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.93. In the second event of the heptathlon, she placed fifth with a mark of 1.31 in the high jump.

She placed fifth in the shot put with a mark of 8.43m. The final event of the Heptathlon on Friday was the 200-meter run. Pease placed third with a time of 27.94.

Pease placed 10th in the 100m hurdles by recording a time of 16.32. Melanie Partin placed 16th in the 400-meter with a time of 1:06.19.

 

Day Three:

Continuing the heptathlon, Pease placed third in the long jump with a mark of 4.69m.

The next event was the javelin where she placed second by recording a mark of 30.51m. In the final event, Pease recorded a time of 2:43.93 in the 800-meter for a fifth-place finish.

Overall, Pease placed third in the heptathlon with a total of 3697 points. With that, Pease has broken the program record for the heptathlon.

Blakley placed fifth in the 5000m race walk with a time of 37:46.79. In the 400m hurdles, Pease recorded a time of 1:11.75 for an eighth-place finish. In the 200 meters, Partin placed 24th with a time of 28.91.
