Union’s Magdalena Skachova named AAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

Barbourville, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University's Magdalena Skachova has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Skachova was 2-0 in singles play on the week, while going 2-0 in doubles competition.

She won 6-1, 6-2 in her singles match against Brenau, while winning 6-3, 7-5 in the matchup against Columbia.

In doubles competition, the duo of Skachova and Anastasia Menghini won 6-1 against both Brenau and Columbia respectively.

No. 17 Union is slotted at No. 2 in the AAC Tournament. The Bulldogs will play against No. 7 seeded Truett McConnell on Thursday, April 10. That match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
