No. 2 Union advances to AAC finals with 4-1 win over No. 3 Reinhardt

Chattanooga, Tenn. – The No. 2 seeded Union Commonwealth University women's tennis team won 4-1 against No. 3 Reinhardt in the AAC semifinals on Friday. The Bulldogs won the doubles point before picking up three wins in singles competition.

 

Doubles:

Lucy Spice and Liliana Drukerova (Union) defeated Nina Thomet and Pilar Becerra 6-1.

Magdalena Skachova and Beatriz Verdial (Union) defeated Hanna Blinouskaya and Camila Neyra 6-2.

Mia Hoeddinghaus and Elyse Standing defeated Laia Garriga Oms and Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) 6-4.

 

Singles:

Liliana Drukerova (Union) vs. Hannah Blinouskaya 2-6, 6-3, 5-5 (DNF).

Magdalena Skachova (Union) defeated Ana Josic 6-0, 6-1.

Camila Neyra defeated Beatriz Verdial (Union) 6-1, 6-0.

Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) defeated Elyse Standing 6-1, 6-2.

Laia Garriga Oms (Union) vs. Paula Blaschke 0-6, 7-5, 4-2 (DNF).

Lucy Spice (Union) defeated Nina Thomet 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

 

The Bulldogs are now 16-5 this season, while Reinhardt is 13-6. No. 2 seeded Union plays against No. 1 Tennessee Wesleyan on Saturday, April 13, at 10:00 a.m. in the AAC finals.
