No. 13 Union wins 6-1 against Brenau
Barbourville, Ky. – The No. 13 Union Commonwealth University women's tennis team defeated Brenau 6-1 on Monday. The Bulldogs swept doubles competition and won five of the six singles matchups.
Doubles:
Liliana Drukerova and Lucy Spice (Union) defeated Mary Wynn Brannon and Yousra Hidass 7-6.
Magdalena Skachova and Beatriz Verdial (Union) defeated Shaloom Delgado Forero and Anita Bizigato Portes 7-5.
Laia Garriga Oms and Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) defeated Sally Brannon and Kristina Radovic 7-5.
Singles:
Liliana Drukerova (Union) defeated Shaloom Delgado Forero 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Magdalena Skachova (Union) defeated Mary Wynn Brannon 6-3, 6-4.
Yousra Hidass defeated Beatriz Verdial (Union) 7-5, 6-2.
Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) defeated Sally Brannon 6-2, 6-3.
Laia Garriga Oms (Union) defeated Kristina Radovic 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
Anna Nevada Loendahl Henriksen (Union) defeated Anita Bizigato Portes 6-2, 7-6.
The Bulldogs are now 11-5 (5-1 AAC) this season, while Brenau is now 6-6 (4-3 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference match against Pikeville on Thursday, April 4, at 2:00 p.m.
