The Bulldogs fall 4-3 at Lees-McRae

Banner Elk, N.C. – The Union College women's tennis team played at Division II opponent Lees-McRae on Saturday. The Bulldogs fell short in a valiant 4-3 effort.

Doubles:

Lucy Spice and Liliana Drukerova (Union) defeated Paty Vedia Sanchez and Anita Ivanova 6-4.

Rhidaim Yang and Begum Gumussoy defeated Anna Nevada Loendahl Henriksen and Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) 7-5.

Miranda Noor and Lina Ngassi Saqout defeated Laia Garriga Oms and Magdalena Skachova (Union) 6-1.

Singles:

Liliana Drukerova (Union) defeated Pati Vedia Sanchez 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Rhidaim Yang defeated Magdalena Skachova (Union) 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.

Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) defeated Miranda Noor 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 6-2.

Lina Ngassi Saqout defeated Beatriz Verdial (Union) 6-0, 6-3.

Anita Ivanova defeated Laia Garriga Oms (Union) 7-5, 6-1.

Lucy Spice (Union) defeated Begum Gumussoy 5-7, 6-4, 10-4.

The Bulldogs are now 5-3 this season, while Lees-McRae is 3-2. Union hosts Reinhardt on Sunday, March 3, at 1:00 p.m.
