The Bulldogs fall 4-3 at Carson-Newman
Jefferson City, Tenn. – The Union College women's tennis team played against a DII opponent on Thursday as the Bulldogs played at Carson-Newman. It was a competitive match, but the Bulldogs fell short 4-3.
Doubles:
Lucy Spice and Liliana Drukerova (Union) defeated Natasha Forrest and Sindija Manovska 6-4.
Anastasiia Iakovlieva and Anna Nevada Loendahl Henriksen (Union) defeated Leah McBride and Suryanshi 7-5.
Magdalena Skachova and Laia Garriga Oms (Union) defeated Julia Speiser and Anita Chornei 6-3.
Singles:
Anita Chornei defeated Liliana Drukerova (Union) 6-3, 7-6.
Natasha Forrest defeated Magdalena Skachova (Union) 6-3, 6-2.
Suryanshi defeated Anna Nevada Loendahl Henriksen (Union) 6-2, 6-1.
Anastasiia Iakovlieva (Union) defeated Leah McBride 6-2, 6-4.
Sindija Manovska defeated Beatriz Verdial (Union) 7-5, 7-6.
Laia Garriga Oms (Union) defeated Julia Speiser 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.
The Bulldogs are now 1-2 this season, while Carson-Newman is 1-1. Up next for the Bulldogs is two matches on Sunday, Feb. 18, as Union will play against Cumberland and Lincoln Memorial respectively.
