
Union women’s swimming and diving defeats Shawnee State
Barbourville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet against Centre and Shawnee State on Saturday. The Bulldogs defeated Shawnee State with a score of 179-72 but fell to Centre, 221-78.
The Bulldogs secured two first-place finishes, five second-place finishes, and three third-place finishes overall.
Sarah Graves set a program 3m dive record with a score of 175.8
In the 400 medley relay, Lise Puissant, Sarah Graves, Emma Phillips, and Manca Petrič earned a second-place finish with a time of 4:12.88.
Dorottya Józsa placed second in the 1000 free with a time of 11:03.82, while Petrič also finished second in the 200 free, clocking in at 2:01.78.
Phillips claimed victory in the 200 fly with a time of 2:17.81, then followed up with a second-place finish in the 100 fly. She posted a time of 1:02.08.
Puissant placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:57.40, achieving a provisional qualifying time. The 800 free relay team, consisting of Józsa, Petrič, Phillips, and Puissant, captured first place with a strong finish. They clocked in at 8:10.53.
