
Union women's swimming and diving secures 10 top-three finishes at Cumberlands
Williamsburg, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University women's swimming and diving team competed against the University of the Cumberlands on Friday. The final score of the matchup was Cumberlands 153, Union 66.
The Bulldogs secured three first-place finishes, along with four second-place and three third-place results.
Manca Petrič secured third place in the 1000 free at 11:19.62. In the 200 free, Emma Phillips captured second place and a provisional qualifying time. She clocked in at 2:02.22.
Lise Puissant competed in the 50 free, where she finished first with a time of 25.79.
In the 1m diving event, Sarah Graves and Sami Sierocki claimed the top two spots, with Graves earning first place with a score of 190.20 and Sierocki followed in second with 147.70. Graves' performance set a school record in the event and provisionally qualified her for nationals on the 1m springboard.
Dorottya Józsa took second place in the 100 free, with a time of 56.13. Puissant followed up with another victory in the 100 back. She won with a time of 1:01.62.
Petrič also secured third place in the 500 free, finishing in 5:29.24. Graves also secured third place in the 100 breast. She posted a time of 1:12.13.
In the 200-free relay, the team of Puissant, Józsa, Petrič, and Phillips finished with a time of 1:43.35 in second place.
