Women’s swimming and diving falls in both meets in opening weekend

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College women's swimming and diving team began the 2023-24 season by hosting Cumberlands on Oct. 13 and Milligan on Oct. 14.

 

Against Cumberlands:

Union's Emma Phillips won the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a final time of 1:09.21. Phillips placed second out of five in the Women's 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:13.37.

The Bulldogs' Dorottya Jozsa placed second out of four in the Women's 100 Yard Butterfly with a final time of 1:01.31. The team of Ceci Gimenez, Erin Pease, Phillips, and Jozsa placed second out of four in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a final time of 1:46.37. The Bulldogs fell 152.5 - 55.5.

 

Against Milligan:

Phillips placed first out of three in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 55.45. Phillips placed second out of four in the Women's 50 Yard Breaststroke with a final time of 33.43.

Gimenez Martinez placed second out of three in the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 5:42.17. Jozsa placed second out of four in the Women's 200 Yard IM with a final time of 2:15.42.

The team of Phillips, Peace, Gimenez, and Jozsa placed second out of three in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a final time of 1:44.67. Jozsa placed second of three in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 1:59.66. Milligan won 187-72.

 

Up next for the Bulldogs is a meet at Asbury on Friday, Oct. 27, at 4:30 p.m.
