Mikayla McKenzie chose Union for its welcoming community and the opportunity to form lasting friendships. Her dream is to become a sports psychologist, helping athletes manage the mental demands of their sport so they can continue to enjoy it. A fan of English in high school, she also enjoys hiking and spending time with friends in her free time.

Her favorite athlete is soccer icon Ochoa, and her go-to drink is blue Gatorade. On road trips, she reaches for Chex Mix, and her favorite meal is chicken adobo. She’s active on Instagram and has one dog.

As a teammate, Mikayla is known for her positivity and encouraging spirit. She wants to be remembered for her uplifting attitude and the energy she brings to the team. One person who’s made a meaningful impact on her at Union is her GA, Yardley Polsen—a constant supporter who also happens to be a Union alum.

Her second-best sports are lacrosse and basketball.
