Two UCU women's soccer players named to All-AAC Second Team

Barbourville, Ky. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released its 2024-25 Women's Soccer All-Conference Team and awards on Thursday.

The Union Commonwealth University women's soccer team earned multiple conference accolades this season. Alberta Yirenkyi and Chiara Isanto were named to the All-AAC Second Team, with Isanto also being a four-time Defensive Player of the Week.

This is the first time someone from the women's soccer team has gotten an All-Conference honor since Madison Hebert in 2022.

Yirenkyi led the team this season with eight goals and 18 points, including three game-winning goals. Isanto recorded 93 saves and earned four shutouts in goal.

Alexis Schweitzer was also recognized on the Champions of Character Team. Six Bulldogs earned spots on the All-Academic Team, highlighting their dedication to both athletics and academics: Myriam Dominguez, Isanto, Shanyah Peters, Jennifer Reyes, Zoie Shepard, and Lena Visarius.
