Union women’s soccer ties 2-2 with Pikeville

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Pikeville on Saturday. 

Alberta Yirenkyi and Shaylynn Bentley scored in the first half, bringing Yirenkyi's season total to eight goals and Bentley's to three. 

Miranda Cardona assisted on both goals, leading the Bulldogs with four assists this season. 

UCU had nine shots, five on target, while Pikeville took 22 shots, with 11 on goal. Chiara Isanto made nine saves, matching her season-high for the second straight game.

The Bulldogs are now 5-4-3 (4-4-1 AAC) this season, while Pikeville  is 7-3-2 (5-2-2 AAC). Next for Union is a home conference match against Tennessee Wesleyan on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 5:00 p.m.
