Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College women's soccer team fell short on Wednesday against Montreat.
In the fifth minute, Montreat took a 1-0 lead off a goal by Olivia Ostwalt. The Cavaliers added to their lead in the 41st minute with a goal by Jamie White. The score was 2-0 at halftime.
Montreat extended its lead in the 54th minute with a goal by Olivia Ostwalt that was assisted by JJ Aalbue. The Bulldogs' Lena Visarius scored an unassisted goal in the 71st minute, but Montreat won the game 3-1. Union goalie Chiara Isanto registered 11 saves.
The Bulldogs are now 3-7 (3-4 AAC), while Montreat is 5-4 (5-2 AAC).
