The Bulldogs win 7-0 over KCU

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College women's soccer team hosted Kentucky Christian on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs picked up a 7-0 victory. It marked Union's second home win out of their past three home matches.

Union scored three goals in the first half. The opening goal was scored by Emily Whitson off an assist by Ana Velasco in the ninth minute.

Alyssa DeMascio scored the second goal off an assist by Miranda Cardona. The final goal of the half was tallied by Yardley Polson in the 41st minute.

Ana Velasco tallied the first goal of the second half off an assist from DeMascio. Following that, Demascio recorded Union's five goal.

In the 70th minute, Lena Visarius added to the Bulldogs' lead off an assist by Velasco. Miranda Cardona registered Union's final goal en route to Union's 7-0 victory. The Bulldogs registered 27 shots on goal, while holding KCU to just one.

Union is now 3-5 (3-3 AAC) this season, while Kentucky Christian is 0-8 (0-7 AAC). Up next for Union is a non-conference road game against Lindsey Wilson on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 8:00 p.m.
