Georgetown, Ky. – The Union College women's soccer team opened the 2023 season with a matchup at Georgetown College. While it was the Bulldogs' first game of the season; Georgetown entered the contest with three wins by a combined score of 20-0.
Union went scoreless in the first half, while Kylie Hudgins and Carson Smith each scored a first half goal for the Tigers. Each of those goals were assisted by Kendyl Rumple.
Following a scoreless second half, the Bulldogs fell by a final score of 2-0. Georgetown entered the matchup having scored at least five goals in each game this season, but Union held the Tigers to just two.
The Bulldogs fall to 0-1, while Georgetown is now 4-0. Up next for Union is a game at Midway on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 1:00 p.m.
