Nationally ranked Bears too much for women's soccer

CLEVELAND, Ga. - A top-20 opponent flexed its muscle on the Union women's soccer team Saturday afternoon.

Five different players scored goals and No. 19 Truett McConnell (Ga.) held the Bulldogs to just one shot on goal on its way to a 5-0 win in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup.

Madison Hebert had 13 saves for Union, which played much more competitively than its last matchup with a ranked opponent, a 9-0 defeat to then-No. 24 Reinhardt on Sept. 17.

Union is back on the road Wednesday, traveling to North Carolina to face fellow-AAC member Montreat at 5 p.m.
