Women's soccer falls 4-1 at Bryan

DAYTON, Tenn. - Union attempted to make a game of it early in the second half, but a pair of late Bryan goals put things out of reach, as the Lions topped the Bulldogs 4-1 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference women's soccer matchup on Wednesday night.

Trailing 2-0 at the midway point, Union cut that deficit in half when Cleo Paris drilled home an unassisted goal in the 54th minute.

But Macy Gibson, who also scored Bryan's first goal of the evening, pushed the deficit back to 3-1 in the 61st minute. Sheridan Lowry then made it 4-1 less than seven minutes later, and the lead was too much to overcome for a Union team that was outshot 34-5.

Union (1-5, 1-3) returns to the field Saturday, hosting AAC foe Point (Ga.) at 5 p.m.
