Scraggs scores twice as women's soccer falls to Dalton State

DALTON, GA. - Freshman Rylee Scraggs scored the first two goals of her collegiate career, providing a highlight as the Union women's soccer team suffered a 7-2 loss at Dalton State (Ga.) Wednesday night.

Scraggs scored her goals 2:24 apart towards the end of the game, the first coming unassisted, the second off a pass from Rafaela Oliveira.

Union, which was held without a shot in its season-opener against Shawnee State (Ohio), was unable to get a shot off in the first half Wednesday before finding a bit of a rhythm, outshooting Dalton State 7-5 over the final 45 minutes.

The Bulldogs were set to begin the home portion of their schedule against Alice Lloyd (Ky.) Saturday, but the game was canceled due to issues within the Eagles program. Union's home and Appalachian Athletic Conference opener will now be against Columbia International (S.C.) on Sept. 9.
