Messer ties for 9th at AAC Golf Fall Preview

GREENVILLE, Tenn. - Union's Whitney Messer concluded a strong fall with a strong performance at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Preview, a two-day tournament that wrapped Tuesday.

The Union College golfer secured a top-10 finish, tying for ninth place in the 59-player field with a two-day, 12-over-par score of 156.

Messer came out strong on day one, recording a birdie on the par-four fourth hole and finishing the day with 76. She wasn't as sharp on Tuesday, recording three consecutive bogeys on holes 2-4, but eventually evened out to finish at 80.

She was the only Bulldog to compete at the tournament, which was held at the Link Hills Country Club in Greeneville, Tenn.

Union's fall slate has concluded, and the team will return to the links in February to begin the spring portion of its schedule.
