Grayson, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's basketball team won 86-56 at Kentucky Christian on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs outscored KCU 24-5 in the second quarter.
Union has won three of its past four games with each of those victories being by at least 15 points. As for road games, the Bulldogs have won three in a row.
UCU's Madison Brady tallied a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds in 22 minutes of playing time. Her 29 points are tied for second most by a Bulldog this season. Brady was 11-of-15 from the floor.
McKenzi Himes tallied 20 points, while going 9-of-12 from the floor in 15 minutes of playing time. Gracie Jervis registered 18 points, while going 5-of-9 from 3-point range. Jervis also tallied six assists and five steals, which led all players in each category.
Rachel Smith recorded eight points, five assists, and four rebounds. Ja'Naia Moran, Claire Belcher, Sarah Smith, and Lindsey Pirkle also scored for UCU. Sarah Smith also tallied five assists.
The Bulldogs are now 8-15 (7-10 AAC) this season, while KCU is 5-18 (3-13 AAC). Up next for Union is a road conference game at Reinhardt on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2:00 p.m.
