Barbourville, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University women's basketball team hosted Montreat on Monday night. The Bulldogs led by as many as 12 points, but fell short 85-77.
Madison Brady scored a team-leading 28 points, while Rachel Smith tallied 22. Brady was 10-of-15 from the floor, while registering a team-leading seven rebounds. Brady's 28 points are the third most by a Bulldog this season.
Smith was 6-of-18 from 3-point range. Her six made 3's are tied for second most by a Bulldog this season.
Gracie Jervis tallied nine points, while Ja'Naia Moran and McKenzi Himes each registered eight. Lindsey Pirkle also scored for UCU.
The Bulldogs are now 7-15 (6-10 AAC) this season, while Montreat is 14-7 (11-5 AAC). Up next for UCU is a road conference game against Kentucky Christian on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m.
