Laurinburg, N.C. – The Union Commonwealth University women's basketball team played at St. Andrews on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs fell short 78-77 in overtime.
Madison Brady tallied 24 points and eight rebounds, which led UCU in each category. McKenzi Himes totaled 17 points off 8-of-15 shooting from the floor, while also registering six rebounds.
Rachel Smith also scored in double figures as the Georgetown, Ky., native recorded 11 points and a game-tying seven assists. Smith also accounted for five rebounds.
Gracie Jervis scored eight points, while registering a team-leading three steals. Emrey Glover totaled six points, while Ja'Naia Moran registered five. Mylaiysha Norman and Rayna Duzant combined to score six points for Union.
The Bulldogs are now 2-3 (1-1 AAC) this season, while St. Andrews is 2-5 (1-2 AAC). Up next for Union is a road conference game against Johnson on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2:00 p.m.
