Union falls 82-78 at Columbia

Columbia, S.C. – The Union College women's basketball team played at Columbia on Wednesday night in a conference matchup. The Bulldogs led by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but Columbia won the matchup 82-78.

Five Bulldogs scored in double figures for Union. Freshman guard Rachel Smith recorded 14 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds. Her 12 assists are the most by a Bulldog this season.

Union's Madison Brady totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals. Brady led the team in each of those three categories. Her nine made field goals is tied for the most by a Bulldog this season, while her 22 points is tied for the second most by a Bulldog.

McKenzi Himes tallied 15 points and seven rebounds, while Morgan Blakley registered 11 points and Ja'Naia Moran recorded 10 points. Madison Cox and Ciara Uphoff also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 7-19 (7-12 AAC) this season, while Columbia is 11-15 (7-12 AAC). Up next for Union is a road conference matchup at Bryan on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 5:30 p.m.
