Union defeats KCU 88-79

Grayson, Ky. – The Union College women's basketball team picked up an 88-79 victory at Kentucky Christian on Tuesday. The Bulldogs led by as many as 17 points.

McKenzi Himes led Union in scoring with 19 points, while registering seven rebounds. Rachel Smith tallied 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Smith's six made 3-pointers and three steals are each the second most by a Bulldog this season with the three steals being tied for second.

Mylaiysha Norman scored a season-high 16 points, while Madison Brady tallied 14 points and a team-leading 10 rebounds. Ciara Uphoff recorded nine points, while going 3-of-4 from 3-point range.

Claire Belcher, Ja'Naia Moran, and Madison Cox combined to score 12 points. Cox tallied 11 assists, which is the most by a Bulldog this season.

The Bulldogs are now 6-18 (6-12 AAC) this season, while KCU is now 4-19 (2-16 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference game against Truett McConnell on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2:00 p.m.
