Himes records double-double as Union wins 73-52 over Bluefield

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College women's basketball team picked up a 73-52 victory over Bluefield on Saturday. Union led by as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs had three players score at least 16 points. McKenzie Himes led Union in scoring and rebounding with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Himes tied the Bulldogs' season-high for points scored, while her eight made field goals also tied for the most.

Rachel Smith tallied 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists for Union, while Madison Brady registered 16 points off 6-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Claire Belcher recorded seven points and seven rebounds. Ciara Uphoff tallied six points, while going 2-of-3 from 3-point range. Mylaiysha Norman and Morgan Blakley also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 3-16 (3-10 AAC) this season, while Bluefield is 2-16 (2-11 AAC). Up next for Union is a road conference game at Kentucky Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 5:30 p.m.
