The Bulldogs fall at Bluefield

Bluefield, VA - The Union College women's basketball team played at Bluefield on Wednesday night. Union had five players score in double figures, but Bluefield picked up the victory.

The Bulldogs began the game with an 18-2 run, and led 22-8 at the end of the first quarter. Union was outscored in both the second and third quarter. The Bulldogs scored 24 points in the fourth, but Bluefield won 83-78. 

Madison Brady led the team in scoring with her season high of 21 points off 8-of-15 shooting from the floor. She also led the Bulldogs in rebounding with seven, which was tied for her season high.

McKenzi Himes was Union's second-leading scorer with 12 points off 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Madison Cox, Ciara Uphoff, and Ja'Naia Moran each tallied 11 points. The trio each registered at least two 3-pointers. Morgan Blakley scored five points, while Emily Whitson recorded four.

The Bulldogs are now 0-10 (0-6 AAC), while Bluefield is 2-8 (2-4 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference matchup against Brenau on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2:00 p.m.
