Women’s basketball falls against Pikeville

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College women's basketball team fell short on Wednesday in a home game against Pikeville.

The Bulldogs were 6-of-11 from the floor in the first quarter, but trailed 22-12 going into the second quarter. Five players scored for Union in the second quarter as the Bulldogs scored 17 points off five assists.

Pikeville led 46-29 at halftime. The Bears extended their lead in the second half as Pikeville won the matchup 105-50.

Madison Brady led Union in scoring with 15 points in 19 minutes. Brady was 7-of-11 from the floor. McKenzi Himes was the Bulldogs' second-leading scorer with 12 points off 6-of-7 shooting. Ja'Naia Moran tallied six points and three assists for Union.

Ciara Uphoff, Raley Snodgrass, Claire Belcher, Madison Cox, Morgan Blakley, and Haley Brock also scored for Union.

The Bulldogs are now 0-3 (0-1 AAC) this season, while Pikeville is 1-0 (1-0 AAC). Up next for Union is a road conference game at Johnson on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 2:00 p.m.
