The Bulldogs drop two games in Woods Lumber Classic

Rio Grande, Ohio – The Union College women's basketball team participated in the Woods Lumber Classic over the weekend. The Bulldogs faced Rochester on Nov. 4 before playing against No. 9 Rio Grande on Sunday, Nov. 5.

 

Against Rochester:

The Bulldogs scored 30 points in the first half, but trailed by 22 at halftime. Rochester scored 52 points in each half en route to a 104-47 win.

Union was led in scoring by McKenzi Himes, who recorded 16 points to go along with a team-leading nine rebounds.

Raley Snodgrass tallied nine points, while Ja'Naia Moran recorded eight to go with four assists and a team-leading four steals. Haley Brock registered seven points. Union fell to 0-1, while Rochester advanced to 2-1.

 

Against No. 9 Rio Grande:

Rio Grande was 46-of-75 from the floor, while being 9-of-18 from three-point range. Union was 16-of-48 from the floor, which included being 9-of-31 from 3-PT range as the Bulldogs fell 116-44.

Moran led the Bulldogs in scoring with nine points, while Himes was second on the team with eight. The Bulldogs fell to 0-2, while Rio Grande advanced to 2-0.

 

Up next for the Bulldogs is a home conference game against Pikeville on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
