DAYTON, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference's top team took Union to the woodshed Thursday, as Bryan scored 31 points in the second quarter and never took its foot off the accelerator in a 95-33 women's basketball win.
The Lion offense overwhelmed the Bulldogs over the final three quarters, outscoring them 76-21. Bryan shot an almost unthinkable 72 percent from the field over that stretch while also holding Union to 24 percent in the same time span.
The Bulldogs, who were playing without starting guard LeAsia Linton, were led by McKenzi Himes, who had a team-best nine points and five rebounds.
Union falls to 3-17 overall and 3-13 in the AAC. The Bulldogs are back on the road for a 4 p.m. game against Point Saturday.
