Pippa Passes, Ky. – The Union Commonwealth University softball team played at Alice Lloyd on Friday in a doubleheader. The Bulldogs fell short in each game.
Game One:
The Bulldogs scored two runs in the top of the first inning when Kaliana Pangallo registered a two-RBI triple that scored Ashleigh McLeskey and Shaylin Lewis. The Bulldogs would go on to fall short 10-2 in five innings.
Jeweleyette Lilley and Katie Fister each pitched in the matchup for UCU. Fister registered three strikeouts, while allowing two earned runs in 2.0 innings pitched.
Game Two:
Union was held scoreless in the game as Alice Lloyd won 7-0 in seven innings. Fister registered both of Union's hits in the matchup, which included a double. Taylor Sain pitched the entire game for UCU.
The Bulldogs are now 2-8 this season, while Alice Lloyd is 5-7. Up next for UCU is a road conference doubleheader against St. Andrews on Monday, March 10, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
