UCU falls short in doubleheader at Reinhardt

Waleska, Ga. – The Union Commonwealth University softball team played at Reinhardt on Saturday in a doubleheader. UCU fell short in each matchup.

 

Game One:

The Bulldogs fell short 6-3 in seven innings. Union's Megan Merritt and Megan McGinley were two of four players that were tied for the most hits in the matchup with two.

Kinsley Redmon and Kaliana Pangallo each tallied one hit. Pangallo's two RBIs were tied for the most in the game. Kaley Harris led Union in stolen bases with two.

Carly Cain and Jeweleyette Lilley each pitched in the matchup. Cain allowed four earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched, while Lilley allowed zero earned runs and four hits in 3.1 innings pitched.

 

Game Two:

UCU trailed 3-0 going into the bottom of the third inning. The Bulldogs would go on to fall short 11-0 in five innings. Merritt, McGinley, and Redmon each tallied a hit.

As she did in the first game, Merritt tallied a double in the contest. Taylor Sain and Lily Marsh each pitched for Union.

 

The Bulldogs are now 2-6 (0-2 AAC) this season, while Reinhardt is 8-4 (5-1 AAC). Up next for UCU is a road doubleheader against Kentucky State on Wednesday, March 5, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
