Union softball has seven Bulldogs named NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes

Barbourville, Ky. – The 2024 Daktronics NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes were recently announced. Union Commonwealth University's softball program had a total of seven student-athletes receive the honor, which is the second most by any Union program for the 2023-24 school year.

According to the official NAIA release, "In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at said institution."

The seven that earned this distinction were Adriann Strouth, Hannah Johnson, Kayla Richardson, Sarah Lowe, Shaylin Lewis, Shelby Easton, and Taylor Whisonant.
