Union’s Sarah Lowe named AAC Player of the Week

Barbourville, Ky. – Union Commonwealth University's Sarah Lowe has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Player of the Week. Union concluded the week with a 4-2 record, which included back-to-back road conference sweeps.

Lowe registered a .500 batting average with 10 hits, two home runs, five RBIs, four runs scored, and three doubles in six games. With those two homers, Lowe has recorded a school record nine home runs on the season. Makala Gore previously held that record with eight in 2018.

It's the first time in over three years that a Union softball player has been named AAC Player of the Week. Ariel Dailey received that distinction in 2021, while Abby Wall was named AAC Pitcher of the Week later that season.

Lowe and the Bulldogs conclude the regular season with a home doubleheader against No. 22 Reinhardt on Wednesday, April 24, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
