Union falls to No. 23 Campbellsville in doubleheader

Barbourville, Ky. – The Union College softball team hosted No. 23 Campbellsville in a two-game series on Wednesday, April 12. Union was unable to score in the doubleheader as both matchups were won by the Tigers.

Game One:

Each team recorded three hits throughout the first three innings, but no runs were scored. Despite this, Campbellsville registered a very productive top of the fourth inning as the Tigers tallied seven runs. Campbellsville won the matchup 10-0 in five innings.

Game Two:

The Tigers scored six runs in the top of the first inning, and followed that up with eight runs in the second. Union only allowed two hits throughout the remainder of the game, but Campbellsville picked up a 14-0 victory in five innings.

The Bulldogs are now 9-26 this season, while Campbellsville is 22-11-1. Up next for Union is a two-game conference series against Johnson on Friday, April 14, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
