Union softball falls short at No. 24 Cumberlands

The Union College softball team had a tough task on Wednesday as the Lady Bulldogs played at No. 24 Cumberlands.

Union's Kaylee Stuckey recorded a single on the opening at bat of the game, but the Lady Patriots recorded a double play on the next at bat.

In the bottom of the first inning, Cumberlands registered five runs to take a 5-0 lead into the second inning.

Union allowed just five hits and one run throughout the remainder of the matchup, but the Lady Patriots won 6-0 in seven innings.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 1-6 this season, while Cumberlands is 10-1. Up next for Union is a doubleheader at Columbia International University on Friday. The opening game of that series is slated for 2:00 p.m.
