Cross country concludes season at AAC Championships

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C - Union cross-country athletes traveled for arguably their most significant race of the season Friday, taking part in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.

On the men's side, in the 8K race, Union had five runners compete, allowing them to accumulate at team score for the first time all year. As a team, they finished in 11th place with a score of 341 and an average time of 3:17:21.

Individually, Alex Garcia finished in 81st place with a time of 33:47.1. Chandler Mills finished one spot behind in 82nd with a time of 34:18.2. Cory Brown was 85th with a time of 40:14.6. Hayden Taylor trailed by one at 86th with a time of 43:59.3. Taylor Callahan was 87th with a time of 45:02.0.

On the women's side, in the 5K race, Morgan Bakely was the top performer, placing 85th with a time of 24:50.3.

This championship event marks the end of the season for Union's cross-country athletes. The Union Bulldogs can now rest and begin their off-season to prepare for next year.
