Union men’s track and field recap from Centre Invitational

Danville, Ky. - The Union Commonwealth University men's track and field team competed in the Centre Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs placed ninth with a total score of 23.

Once again, Payton Ellison led the way by placing first in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m. Tyler Sturgil placed 11th by recording a mark of 1.75m. Joey Holloway recorded a mark of 1.65m to put him in 14th place.

In the 1500-meter run, Connor Partin placed 23rd by recording a time of 4:43.50. Chris Thomas placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.30. Garomme Hanna placed 26th with a time of 24.42.

Hanna also placed 13th in the javelin throw with a mark of 37.66m. Mark Prewitt placed 16th by recording a mark of 36.51m. Travis Hensley and Lucas Gibson placed 29th and 30th with marks of 22.40m and 21.77m respectively.

Gibson placed 27th in shot put by recording a mark of 9.64m. Hensley also competed in the shot put, and tallied a mark of 8.56m to put him in 30th place.

In flight one of the discus throw, Gibson placed eighth with a mark of 25.70m. In flight two, Holloway placed ninth by recording a mark of 33.62. Holloway placed 18th in the long jump with a mark of 5.26m.
