Union men’s track and field recap from Bellarmine Open

Louisville, Ky. -  The Union College men's track and field team competed in the Bellarmine Open in Louisville, Ky., on Friday.

The Bulldogs faced tough competition from NCAA Division I schools such as Eastern Kentucky, Louisville, Western Kentucky, Bellarmine, etc.

Payton Ellison secured a third-place finish out of nine competitors in the men's high jump with a 1.95m performance. 

The quartet of Jackson Crume, Preston Frost, Conner Partin, and Alex Garcia crossed the finish line with a time of 12:15.60 in the distance medley.

In the 60m, Chris Thomas and Quindarius Carter claimed the 20th and 27th positions respectively. The Bulldogs also competed in the 400m as Frost, Garcia, and Jaquar Williams secured the 21st, 23rd, and 26th spots respectively.

Partin competed in the 800m, and finished at No. 37 with a time of 2:15.08. Crume ran in the 3000m with a time of 9:35.05 to finish in 46th place.

In the field events, Bronson Bates and Lucas Gibson threw in the shot put. They claimed the 10th and 14th positions respectively.

Up next for the Union men's track and field team is the Olivet Nazarene University Invite on Friday, Jan. 26.
