No. 3 Union falls to No. 2 Reinhardt in AAC semifinals

 

Barbourville, Ky. – The No. 3 seeded Union Commonwealth University men's tennis team fell short 4-0 against No. 2 Reinhardt in the AAC semifinals on Friday. The Bulldogs defeated No. 6 SCAD Atlanta earlier in the day, but fell short against the only twice beaten Eagles of Reinhardt.

 

Doubles:

Diego Garcia Gil and Daniel Caballeros (Union) vs. Nikolai Hensburg and Federico Zeiter 5-5 (DNF).

Luciano Fisicaro and Zak Khalil defeated Harry Jordan and Joao Cardoso (Union) 6-3.

Juan Vallejo and Pol Masafret defeated Luke Geduldt and Victor Bourguignon (Union) 6-4.

 

Singles:

Diego Garcia Gil (Union) vs. Luciano Fisicaro 6-4, 1-2 (DNF).

Niccolo Chiriatti (Union) vs. Augustin Siufi 6-7, 1-0 (DNF).

Zak Khalil defeated Luke Geduldt (Union) 6-4, 6-2.

Pol Masafret defeated Kacper Gorecki (Union) 6-1, 6-2.

Victor Bourguignon (Union) vs.Juan Vallejo 6-3, 2-5 (DNF).

Said Santin defeated Harry Jordan (Union) 6-3, 6-1.

 

The Bulldogs are now 12-11 this season, while Reinhardt is 16-2. Union now awaits the release of the 2024 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship bracket.
