No. 3 Union defeats No. 6 SCAD Atlanta in AAC quarterfinals

Barbourville, Ky. – The No. 3 seeded Union Commonwealth University men's tennis team defeated No. 6 SCAD Atlanta 4-1 on Friday in the AAC quarterfinals. The match was originally scheduled for Thursday.

The victory marks the sixth consecutive time that the Bulldogs have advanced to the semifinals. The Bulldogs won the doubles point, while winning three points in singles competition.

Doubles:

Diego Garcia Gil and Daniel Caballeros (Union) defeated Jakub Bojarski and Mikaeel Woodman 7-5.

Ernesto Sanz Martinez and Firas Ben Chouikha defeated Harry Jordan and Joao Cardoso (Union) 4-6.

Luke Geduldt and Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Nicolas Fertonani and Valentino Capararo 7-5.

Singles:

Diego Garcia Gil (Union) vs. Mikaeel Woodman 7-6, 2-6, (DNF).

Niccolo Chiriatti (Union) vs. Firas Ben Chouikha 6-7, 4-3 (DNF).

Luke Geduldt (Union) defeated Jakub Bojarski 6-2, 6-3.

Kacper Gorecki (Union) vs. Ernesto Sanz Martinez 0-6, 3-6, (DNF).

Victor Bourguignon (Union) defeated Nicolas Fertonani 7-5, 6-4.

Harry Jordan (Union) defeated Valentino Capararo 6-4, 0-3.

The Bulldogs are now 12-10 this season, while SCAD Atlanta is 4-10. No. 3 Union faces No. 2 Reinhardt tonight in the AAC semifinals at 7:15 p.m.
