The Bulldogs come up short 6-1 at Carson-Newman

Jefferson City, Tenn. – The Union College men's tennis team played at Division II opponent Carson-Newman on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell short 6-1. Union's lone point came off a singles win by Diego Garcia Gil.

 

Doubles:

Van Dalen and Lars Hordijk defeated Harry Jordan and Joao Cardoso (Union) 6-2.

Paul Gayk and Gjorgii Jankulovski defeated Daniel Caballeros and Diego Garcia Gil (Union) 7-6.

Marc Janse and Yehor Opanasenko defeated Luke Geduldt and Victor Bourguignon (Union) 7-5.

 

Singles:

Marnix Van Dalen defeated Luke Geduldt (Union) 7-5, 6-3.

Marc Janse defeated Harry Jordan (Union) 7-6, 6-2.

Gjorgii Jankulovski defeated Kacper Gorecki (Union) 6-2, 6-4.

Diego Garcia Gil (Union) defeated Paul Gayk 6-1, 6-7, 6-3.

Lars Hordijk defeated Victor Bourguignon (Union) 6-2, 4-6, 11-9.

Matthew Saunders defeated Joao Cardoso (Union) 6-1, 7-6.

 

The Bulldogs are now 1-3 this season, while Carson-Newman is 1-1. Up next for the Bulldogs is a match against Belmont Abbey at Lincoln Memorial University on Friday, Feb. 16. That match is slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
