Union men's swimming and diving recap from the NAIA National Championship
Columbus, GA. - The Union College men's swimming and diving team competed in the NAIA National Championship on March 6th through March 9th. The Bulldogs tied for 21st place with two top-20 finishes.
Gabriel Icobescu placed 17th in the 200 Freestyle, while Zach Nepogoda also placed 17th in the 1650 Freestyle.
Union head swim coach Ryan Winders shared these sentiments:
"The men's team had a solid weekend at nationals. For one, it was his first experience at nationals and he learned a lot about the level of competition here. For the other, it was his last nationals and he had it go out with a bang. While both finished just outside of the top-16, they swam well and went some of their best times this season. It definitely gives us something to build on next year."
