Union men’s swimming recap from meets against Transylvania, Campbellsville, and Lindsey Wilson

Barbourville, Ky - The Union College men's swimming and diving team competed against Transylvania on Oct. 3. The Bulldogs competed against Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson respectively on Oct. 4. The Bulldogs won two of the three meets.

Against Transylvania:

In the second event of the day, the Men's 400 Yard Medley Relay; the Bulldogs finished in first place. These swimmers included Zsombor Sipaki, Dmitrii Bulakh, Luke Colebank, and Will Webb. Their final time was 3:39.22.

In the fourth event of the day, the Men's 1650 Yard Freestyle, Zach Nepogoda placid first with a seed time of 16:30.66 and a final time of 17:05.97.

In the eighth event of the day, the Men's 50 Yard Freestyle, Gabriel Icobescu placed first with a final time of 21.23. In the 14th event of the day, the men's 100 yard butterfly, Iboescu placed first with a final time of 52.13.

In the 16th event of the day, the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle, Jaedon Lynch placed first with a final time of 49.92.

In the 18th event of the day, the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke, Sipaki placed first with a final time of 54.10.

In the 20th event of the day, the Men's 500 Yard Freestyle, Nepogoda placed first with a final time of 5:00.91.

In the 24th event of the day, the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke, Lynch placed first with a final time of 1:02.28.

In the last event of the day, the Men's 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Union placed first. These swimmers included: Mikita Filipovich, David Espin, Lynch and Icobescu. Their final time was 3:19.78.

Against Campbellsville & Lindsey Wilson:

In the second event of the day, the Men's 200 Meter Medley Relay, the team of Sipaki, Lynch, Bulakh, and Colebank placed first for the Bulldogs. Their final time was 1:52.55.

In the 16th event of the day, the Men's 100 Meter Backstroke, Spiaki placed first with a final time of 1:00.5.

The Bulldogs defeated Campbellsville 99-87, but fell to Lindsey Wilson 112-74. To view the full results, click here.
