No. 15 Union men’s soccer ties 1-1 with Bryan

Barbourville, Ky. – No. 15 Union men's soccer tied with Bryan on Wednesday night. With the tie, the Bulldogs are still undefeated on the season.

In the 31st minute of the first half, Nathan Bouard got a free kick goal to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Bryan's Cesar Castro followed up in the 35th minute by tying the score 1-1. Castro's goal was the last one of the night as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Bouard collected his third goal of the season. Union goalie Ethan Whyte had three saves on the day, which gives him 26 on the season.

Callum Edwards remains the leader in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) for goals, while ranking second in the NAIA with 18. Asuka Kaneda is ranked second in the AAC for assists with eight, while Callum Longworth follows in third place.

The Bulldogs are now 11-0-1 (7-0-1 AAC), while Bryan is 7-6-1 (6-3-1 AAC). Up next for the Bulldogs is a road conference matchup at Pikeville on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 1:00 p.m.
