No. 21 Union scores 10 goals in victory over Kentucky Christian

Barbourville, Ky. – The No. 21 Union College men's soccer team picked up a 10-1 victory on Wednesday night in a home game against Kentucky Christian.

Callum Edwards, Callum Longworth, and Asuka Kaneda each scored two goals for the Bulldogs. Biel Vallverdu, Daniel Westray, William Fox, and Gianna Loska each tallied one goal.

Kaneda scored the opening goal in the eighth minute, but KCU's Jaime Rodriguez tied the score two minutes later. Union countered with back-to-back goals by Callum Edwards within the following five minutes.

Kaneda tallied Union's fourth goal, while Longworth registered the fifth and sixth. Vallverdu accounted for the final goal of the half as Union led 7-1 at halftime.

Fox, Westray, and Craig recorded the Bulldogs' second half goals. Eight assists were tallied by Union in the matchup as Kaneda had three, while Longworth, Vallverdu, Brzozowski, Craig, and Paulo Carvalheiro Daniel registered one.

The Bulldogs are 9-0 (5-0 AAC) this season, while KCU is 1-7-1 (0-6-0 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference matchup against Montreat on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7:00 p.m.
