No. 21 Union wins 9-0 at Johnson

Knoxville, Tenn. – The No. 21 Union College men's soccer team posted nine goals in Wednesday night's shutout win at Johnson. It marks the most goals Union has scored in a game since scoring 11 in back-to-back matchups toward the end of the 2022 season.

Callum Edwards scored Union's first two goals within the opening seven-and-a-half minutes of the first half.

William Fox tallied the third goal, while Asuka Kaneda registered the fourth and Tyler Wheatcroft accounted for the fifth. The Bulldogs' sixth goal of the night was the second for Kaneda.

Callum Longworth scored Union's final goal of the opening half to give Union a 7-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Paulo Carvalheiro Daniel and Daniel Westray each scored for the Bulldogs. The final score was 9-0 in favor of Union.

Of Union's nine goals, six of them were via assist. Longworth tallied two assists, while Wheatcroft, Biel Vallverdu, Jan Brzozowski, and Carlos Sainz each recorded one.

The Bulldogs are now 7-0 (3-0 AAC) this season, while Johnson is 0-5-1 (0-3-1 AAC). Up next for Union is a home conference game on Saturday, Sept. 23, against Truett McConnell. That matchup is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m.
