
UCU men’s bowling competes at the Hoosier Classic
Indianapolis, Ind. - The Union Commonwealth University men's bowling team recently competed in the prestigious Hoosier Classic, taking on top programs from NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA.
Facing a highly competitive field of 78 teams, the Bulldogs secured a 40th-place finish with a team total of 4,737, a baker total of 2,828, and an overall combined score of 7,565. The event featured over 500 bowlers, making it one of the most challenging tournaments of the season.
Hunter Cain secured a 46th-place finish overall, knocking down a total of 1,052 pins with a tournament average of 210.4. His strongest performance came with a high game of 244 over five games.
Meanwhile, Zach Lipson and Charles Goguen finished back-to-back in the standings. Lipson posted a five-game total of 955 pins, averaging 191 per game, while Goguen followed closely with 954 pins and a tournament average of 190.8.
Rieley Ulanday and David Painter delivered closely matched performances, finishing back-to-back in the tournament. Ulanday knocked down a total of 889 pins, averaging 177.8 over five games, while Painter was right behind with 887 pins and a 177.4 average.
